Cullen was named to the post of the newly-formed New Hampshire-Vermont Chapter of the NCDA, which is a career development organization that provides professional development, along with publications and standards to professionals and educators across the nation. The new chapter held its first official chapter networking session on July 29 in Burlington, Vt. Its formation was announced at the end of June by the NCDA. This is literally history in the making, Cullen said Wednesday. The new chapter will enable guidance and career counselors, and anyone who is providing career development or workforce development services, to go to either state and collaborate and share resources. For the National Career Development Association they also consider this to be a real good stake in the ground for what we can be doing in the Northeast, Cullen said, adding, Ultimately, this is going to help our New Hampshire and Vermont economies because it will provide those best practices that the citizens of both states can take advantage of. The new chapter will also be partnering with other organizations, such as the New Hampshire college and university system to assist in career development practices, Cullen said. As president, Cullen will oversee all aspects of new business development and new relationship development as well as all officers of the new chapter. He will serve as president for one year before stepping down. ..

McClain was suspended for 10 games on June 30, and now reports from ESPN’s Todd Archer and Jean-Jacques Taylor and Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole say that McClain tested positive for a codeine-based drink called “purple drank,” a mixture of cough syrup and Sprite. According to Cole, users of purple drank often gain weight, and McClain has allegedly gained 40 pounds this offseason and is “incredibly out of shape.” The Cowboys expected McClain, according to ESPN, to show up for the team’s flight to California for training camp last week, but he didn’t attend and hasn’t since. Now, his career is in jeopardy. “Even we don’t know all the details,”Stephen Jones, theCowboys’ executive vice president, told reporters on Tuesday. “We just don’t know.” When asked if McClain’s career is over, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said, “We’re focused on the guys who are here.” It’s unclear where the Cowboys and McClain go from here. McClain had twice retired in his five-year career before joining the Cowboys in 2014. According to ESPN, McClain who was suspended for four games last season for violating the substance-abuse policy is in the final stage (Stage 3) of the NFL’s substance-abuse program. The NFL could order him to go to a treatment facility, though multiple reports indicate that it’s unclear if he’s been asked to. If he does not go to one at the orders of medical directors, then he could face a one-year suspension. If the Cowboys decide to release McClain, then he would count$750,000 against the salary cap, according to ESPN. It’s a concerning situation for the Cowboys, as McClain isn’t reportedly close to playing shape, and unless he shows up to training camp, then he may not see the field until November.
